our wedding [and vendor list!]

Dear future bride,

You are getting MARRIED! I'm ecstatic for you. I know this season of life can be overwhelming, so today, on our one year anniversary, I put together a list of the fabulous artists we hired for our wedding day. It was so fun for me to think back through our experience with every person, their immense talent, and the joy they brought Ben and I on our wedding day.

Photos: Lauren Scotti Photographer

As a photographer myself, finding a photographer was incredibly important to me. Lauren. She is so great. Sooo down to earth and such a great personality to have around on our big day. She and her husband Daniel both took Ben and I aside separately before the ceremony to pray over us, which I wasn't expecting, and it was sooo touching.

 We love Lauren!

We love Lauren!

Venue: Calamigos Ranch

We knew we wanted to get married in Malibu having met at Pepperdine but didn't really consider Calamigos since we knew so many people had gotten married there and didn't want an overused venue, ya know? Buuuuut then we saw the Oak Room and everything that came in the package and were totally sold. It was the perfect venue for us (and if you've seen the last episode of Parenthood ever, they filmed that here!)

Florals: Bellatula Floral Studio (Steph Hall)

Steph was such a perfect match for us. She has a full time job but does florals on the side and to meet her and see her passion about flowers was awesome. She was affordable, has a great style, and is a joy to work with. (She even incorporated my late grandmother's lace into all our bouquets. When I first saw my bouquet I burst into tears. Proof below!!) I chose a white and green color palette and was absolutely in love when I first laid eyes on our reception room.

Coordination: Details, Darling

Aubrey Huffman. Can't tell ya enough how much I loved this girl as our coordinator. Hire her if you haven't gotten a coordinator yet!! And honestly if I could go back I'd pay her more to have her plan our entire wedding ha! Her style is impeccable and she's the hardest worker ever. Love that girl.

 All the love for Aubs.

Makeup: Hailey Hoff  makeupbyhailey@yahoo.com

Both my mom and Aubrey had told me separately about Hailey so I knew we had to hire her. She's legit and made me feel so beautiful. And my makeup looked great all night!!

Hair: Lauren Madrid LaurenMadridHair@gmail.com

Lauren Madrid was amaze. At our HMU run through I told her a vague idea of what I was picturing and she nailed it the first try. I literally said to her "just do exactly this on the real day oh my god I love it."

Spray Tan: Crystal Fagley 330.265.6206

My secret weapon. My new bestie. This girl made me feel like a million bucks. Spray tans that are long lasting and look amazing aren't cheap but I'm SO glad I hired Crystal. She's such a sweetheart.

Invitations: A Fabulous Fete

Like almost every vendor we hired for our wedding, Lauren of A Fabulous Fete was an Instagram find. And she was incredibleeee. I had been searching high and low for a custom hand-letterer in my style and Lauren fit the bill PLUS she has super reasonable prices. Here is her etsy, her IG, and a link to a photo she styled of our invites!

Band: AMFM

Ben actually found this band, and they were AMAZING. If you decide to have a band I can't tell you how much we recommend this group. They knew how to read a room, played all our favorite songs, and just sounded SO good. Plus they're like the nicest people ever.

My dress: Sarah Seven

I knew I wanted a Sarah Seven design from the get go. I found my dress at The Dress Theory in Seattle, but they are sold at other shops too! I was in love with my dress, and it was a great price. I also added straps to mine :)

Ben's suit: J.Crew

Not sure what your man is wearing but we got Ben a tailored suit from J. Crew at the Grove. The staff were awesome and gave him all these tips on how to stand etc. during pictures. And now he has a bomb suit he can wear a looong time!

Bridemaid's dresses: J.Crew

I'm heartbroken to tell ya that these dresses are no longer sold at J.Crew. Apparently they decided to nix their entire wedding line within months after my wedding?!

Robes: Robes by silkandmore

I love this sweet woman from India!!! I was so late on ordering these and she got them to me ahead of schedule so I wouldn't freak out. She's the bomb. Also there are sooo many styles. Highly recommend!!

The cake: Skiff's Cakes

My mom found this incredible bakery in Simi Valley. I gave them a couple reference photos of what I was imagining and they nailed it EXACTLY. Our florist added a few roses and some sprigs of rosemary to complete the look.

My mindset going into wedding planning was to think of the wedding as a huge celebration for all our closest friends and family. Literally like, let's throw a huge ass party for all these wonderful people we love to thank them for helping to make us who we are. When I thought of the day not as a celebration of myself and Ben, it completely took the pressure off.

Good luck and please feel free to ask me any questions!
